The price of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) has been expanded and reached Rs.279.75 for petrol and it is Rs.287.33 when it comes to diesel. The petrol price in Pakistan has increased by Rs.4.13 per liter. Conversely, there is no change in the price of diesel. This hike has been reported by the interim administration in Pakistan for the forthcoming two-week period commencing from February 16, 2024, until February 29, 2024.

The prominent reason for this substantial rise in fuel prices is due to the critical situation in the Red Sea as per the official news. Houthi forces are striking and confining the movement of petroleum tankers and other ships which eventually lead to an upsurge in petrol and diesel rates.
The petrol and diesel prices also boosted at the start of February. There was an increase in the petrol rate of Rs 12.55 per liter and Rs.2.75 per liter in diesel rate. This happens due to the ongoing stress in the Middle East.
